  • What is Newman Heights?

    Newman Heights is a fully furnished off-campus apartment facility located across the street from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville

  • Are there requirements to living in Newman Heights?

    UW-Platteville students, Fennimore Tech students, Dubuque students,  other students not associated with the local University taking at least 1 credit of post-secondary education can qualify. Additionally, interns, and recent graduates of a post-secondary institution are also eligible to live at Newman Heights.

  • Do I need to bring roommates if I want to live in the 4-bedroom layout?

    We can accommodate groups as well as provide roommate matching for individuals and partial groups.

     

  • What are the average utility payments?

    Internet and Water are included.

    Gas and Electric (both in just one bill) are on he tenant, they vary due to individual usage. However, in our 4-bedroom layouts we see bills around $15-$25 per person/month, studios range $30-$45 per person/month.

  • Can I pay using financial aid?

    We do accept Financial Aid, Scolarships, and Grants.

  • Is there a curfew that I need to follow?

    There is no curfew, residents are welcomed to come and go as they please. The building is secured 24/7 with electric key fob entries. 

  • Is alcohol allowed on the property?

    Yes, alcohol is allowed in Newman Height.

  • When do I need to pay my security deposit?

    Security deposit payments are due when the lease is signed and before moving in.

  • Are units single gendered?

    Yes, all units will be separated by gender. The exception would be for married couples, siblings, or cousin.

  • What does Double Occupancy mean?

    Two residents want to share the same bedroom (or Studio). Each of them signs a seperate lease for the reduced rate. We provide a bunk bed for the two of you. All you need to do is find a friend to share a room with.

  • Is actively engaging in growing in faith a requirement?

    No, there are no religious requirements to living at Newman Heights. Everyone is welcome to practice their own beliefs without question and judgement.
